The Liegenschaftsfonds Berlin is owned by the Berlin city government and was set up in January 2001 to sell properties not needed for government purposes.
Initially the bidding process was complex and time consuming with uncertain outcome for the bidder after investing in concepts.

Starting September 1, 2009 there are properties available at fair market value for any interested buyer. The first lots are
